How Microsoft’s OneNote Keeps Me Organized | Raleigh Newborn Photographer

As a Newborn Photographer you need to be organized. I need to keep track of vendors I use, props I have bought, miles driven to photo shoots, etc. Its hard to keep it all in one place that is convenient when you need it. Let me tell you how Microsoft’s OneNote keeps me organized.  I have a love/hate relationship with stationary. I love it and buy all the pretty things that I think will make my life simplified. I have tried the Erin Condren Life Planner, the Whitney English Day Designer, Arc Notebooks, Papyrus Notebooks, etc. Now while they are all very pretty and promise to organize your life, they never worked for me. I love writing things down but I also like to start a notebook and stop using it after some time because I can’t organize it like I want. I thought the Arc Notebook would be perfect because you can take the pages out and re-arrange but it was too big and bulky to carry with me everywhere.

I finally found the perfect solution, One Note by Microsoft. Want to know the best part? Its FREE and it syncs to the cloud and works on multiple devices!!! You can create Notebooks, then within those notebooks you can create Sections, then pages within those sections. You can color code things and even add pretty stationary to your pages. This has been so helpful to me! I have it synced on all my devices (Iphone, Imac, Ipad) and you can log in from anywhere should you be without your device and need to get some information.

Let me show you some of my favorite features. Look how colorful and organized this is!

You can password protect pages. I don’t know about you but I have a ton of username and passwords for all sorts of things and can never remember any of them, especially when you have to include a capitol letter or special character. When you password protect a page, only you can see what’s in it!

Recipes! This one’s a good one by the way! I just prop up my Ipad at home and cook easy peasy. No huge cookbooks and random magazine cut outs anymore.

We just recently built a home and have started to hang pictures on the wall. Thanks to my handy dandy organization skills with OneNote, I was able to go around each room and make note of any walls with pipes behind them so we knew not to hang something there!

I almost forgot the best part! The SEARCH feature. How annoying is it to flip through a notebook filled with notes trying to find one specific thing? With the search feature, you can just key in some key words and it will populate all the pages with it to help save you some time!

I love that I can pull up OneNote anytime on my phone, tablet, or computer anywhere. No more notebooks for me, except for journals because I do still love to handwrite sometimes. Check out OneNote for yourselves, you won’t regret it!
